Japan. WW2 Japanese Type 30 bayonet for the different Arisaka rifles: the Type I Carcano rifle, the Type 99 rifle and the Type 30 rifle.
This bayonet began production in 1897 in the Empire of Japan and was used from the Russo-Japanese War until the Second World War. It is called Type 30 because it was produced in 1897, the 30th year of the Meiji era. It was the main bayonet of the Imperial Japanese Army infantry.
On the blade it has the symbol of the three-leaf clover, representing a stack of cannonballs seen from above, of the Kokura Rikugun Zoheisho (Kokura Army Ministry Arsenal) which manufactured bayonets between 1935 and 1945. On the grip it has the serial number «15437».
The blade has the characteristic katana shape. The scabbard is from the mid or late Second World War, manufactured without a ball tip.
