Japan. M1930 or Type 90 Visor Cap of the Imperial Japanese Army
Officer’s peaked cap of the Imperial Japanese Army, used during the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945) and the Pacific campaigns of the Second World War (1941–1945).
The cap retains its original buttons and chinstrap. It also bears the owner’s name label, 「中庄田」 (Nakashōda or Chūshōda, depending on the reading of the surname).
The M1930 (Type 90) was one of the standard service caps worn by officers of the Japanese Army during the major conflicts of the 1930s and 1940s. Its rigid construction and overall design reflected contemporary European military headwear influences.
