During World War II, Japanese soldiers who were called up for service had the custom of taking with them a national flag with inscriptions made by friends and family to wish them good luck in battle.
This flag contains 80 signatures and messages such as «Long live your warrior’s luck», or «Protect the Imperial House». Made of silk.
