Japan. Japanese Type 19 Kyu-Gunto Japanese Officer’s Sabre.
This Japanese sword was established in 1886 (Meiji 19) but had several modifications in the early years of the 20th century. The Kyu-gunto (旧軍刀, old military sabre) is based on European sabres, in the same way that the Army’s armament and structure were made in the likeness of the West, they also imitated the type of sabre for Officers.
This particular model was used by the Officers of the Imperial Japanese Army at the beginning of the 20th century, during the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905) or the First World War (1914-1918).
Being a dress sword, the blade has no edge.
Japanese sword from the First World War WW1 or Russo-Japanese War.
