The Capítol Nobiliari dels Homes de Paratge del Principat de Catalunya is a Catalan corporation of a nobiliary character.
The term “home de paratge” is of medieval origin. In Catalonia, it referred to a person of noble status, generally belonging to the lesser or untitled nobility and ranking below the great barons and magnates. The concept of “paratge” referred to a particular degree of nobiliary dignity or status.
The Capítol Nobiliari dels Homes de Paratge del Principat de Catalunya, however, is a contemporary institution that claims this historical tradition. Its activities are associated with the preservation of nobiliary traditions, genealogy and heraldry, as well as the organisation of cultural and ceremonial events.
