Medal of Defender of Free Russia #00432 ЗАЩИТНИКУ СВОБОДНОЙ РОССИИ
It is a state award of the Russian Federation created on July 2, 1992.
The regulation mentions «is awarded to citizens of the Russian Federation, foreign citizens and stateless persons for their courage in defending the constitutional order during the 1991 Soviet coup d’état attempt, for merit in the implementation of democratic transformation, economic and political reforms, the strengthening of Russian statehood, and for contributions to the solution of national problems.»
On the obverse there is a cross with Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon and the date August 21, 1991 at the bottom. On the reverse, the image of the White House of the Soviets of Russia between the barricades from 1991 and the serial number 00432.
The medal is made of tombac and silver plated.
Only 1994 medals were awarded.
