Mexico. Mexican bayonet M1936
Long bayonet designed for use with the Mexican Mauser M1936 and the Mauser 1954.
It bears the serial number «31913» on the top of the grip. On the scabbard, the serial number is barely visible, although a «3» can be seen. On the blade, there is a «Z» inside a circle; although this was also the symbol used by the Czechoslovak factory Československá zbrojovka of Brno, it was likewise employed as an acceptance mark by the Mexican arsenal.
Between 1936 and 1947, around 50,000 units of the Mauser Model 1936 were produced by the National Arms Factory, which were distributed to the Mexican Army and the Federal Police. The number of bayonets manufactured for this model is unknown, but they are very difficult to find.
With metal scabbard and leather frog.
Bayonet length: 43.2 cm
Length without scabbard: 39.3 cm
Blade length: 27.2 cm
