Spain. Spanish Order of Aeronautical Merit. 1st Class Plaque. White Insignia. Franco Era.
This order was established in 1945, and the first model, corresponding to the Franco era, was in effect until 1977.
On November 30, 1945, the decree and the Air Force Rewards Regulation in peacetime were approved, which establishes the following:
Article 12: The rewards that may be granted to generals, chiefs, officers, non-commissioned officers, and their equivalents in peacetime are as follows: the Aeronautical Merit Cross with a white insignia, as well as the Aeronautical Merit Cross with a white insignia of an extraordinary nature and with a pension.
Article 19: Classes and enlisted personnel, along with their equivalents, who distinguish themselves notably in the performance of their duties and are useful to the Air Force, may be rewarded for merits acquired in peacetime, or considered as such in wartime. The designs corresponding to this resolution were published in BOA number 2, in 1946.
Article 11: At the end of each calendar year, regional authorities will submit a proposal to the respective Minister regarding personnel who, having distinguished themselves in the performance of duty, may be deserving of the Aeronautical Military Merit Cross with a white insignia and honorific mentions.
