Republic of Cuba. Combatant Medal of the Liberation War. It is a medal of the Republic of Cuba awarded by the Council of State, the following are authorized to propose it: the Commander in Chief and the Ministers of the FAR and the MININT. It is awarded to those who actively participated as combatants in some of the fronts, columns or units of the Rebel Army during the National Liberation War and who have maintained an exemplary attitude consistent with revolutionary principles. In exceptional cases it can be awarded to other people who, without having been a combatant, have stood out in the insurrectionary struggle and have maintained an exemplary attitude.
