Socialist Bulgaria. Bulgarian Air Force Second Class Pilot Badge
Aeronautical qualification badge intended for pilots of the Bulgarian People’s Republic Air Force, introduced during the 1970s. Its design closely resembles Bulgarian pilot badges from the Second World War period, but incorporates the coat of arms of the People’s Republic of Bulgaria at the top as a distinguishing feature.
The Second Class qualification is identified by the number “2”, displayed on the shield at the bottom of the badge.
The reverse features a screw-back fastening system and the manufacturer’s mark “БМЦ”, the abbreviation for Български Монетен Цех (Bulgarian Mint Workshop).
