The Order of the Republic of Yugoslavia, established on July 6, 1960, was one of the highest civilian decorations awarded by the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. It was intended to recognize outstanding contributions to the strengthening of the state, the promotion of brotherhood and unity among the Yugoslav peoples, and the advancement of socialist society.
Established in three classes, this order was granted to both individuals and institutions that demonstrated exemplary commitment to the nation’s ideals, national sovereignty, and collective welfare.
