This remarkable group brings together some of the most representative decorations awarded to participants in the Great Patriotic War. The Medals for the Defence of Moscow, Leningrad, and Stalingrad attest to service in three of the most important defensive campaigns of the war, while the Medal for the Capture of Budapest recognizes participation in the final advance of the Red Army into Central Europe.
The Medal for Valiant Labour was awarded to civilians who made significant contributions to the war effort on the home front, while the Victory over Germany Medal confirmed participation in the defeat of Germany in 1945. Finally, the 20th Anniversary Victory Medal was awarded to surviving veterans in recognition of their wartime service.
