The Medal for Combat Merit was a Soviet military decoration awarded for bravery, initiative, and distinguished service in combat. Its presence in this group, together with the Victory over Germany Medal, identifies the recipient as a veteran of the Second World War who served in the armed forces of the Soviet Union.
The Veteran of Labour Medal recognized long and dedicated civilian service after the war, while the 50th Anniversary Medal commemorated service within the Soviet armed forces.
