Soviet Union USSR. Medal for the 30th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 1945–1975
The Commemorative Medal for the 30th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 (Russian: Юбилейная медаль «Тридцать лет Победы в Великой Отечественной войне 1941–1945 гг.») was instituted on 25 April 1975 to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany.
It was awarded to military personnel and civilians who took part in the Great Patriotic War, as well as partisans, members of the underground resistance, and other individuals who had previously received the Medal for the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945 (Russian: Медаль «За победу над Германией в Великой Отечественной войне 1941–1945 гг.») or the Medal for the Victory over Japan (Russian: Медаль «За победу над Японией»). It was also awarded to selected home-front workers in recognition of their contribution to the war effort.
The medal was issued in three different versions, distinguished by the inscription on the reverse: one for combat veterans, one for home-front workers, and one for foreign nationals.
