Soviet Union USSR. Medal for the Defence of Moscow with Award Document, 1944
The Medal for the Defence of Moscow was established by the Soviet Union to recognize military personnel and civilians who took part in the defence of the Soviet capital during the crucial stages of the Battle of Moscow.
The medal was awarded to members of the Red Army, troops of the NKVD, and civilian personnel who participated in the defence of Moscow for at least one month between 19 October 1941 and 25 January 1942. It was also granted to those who contributed to the construction of defensive positions, air defence operations, and other essential support activities.
