Soviet Union USSR. Order of the Badge of Honour with Award Book and Case, 1971
The Order of the Badge of Honour was one of the principal civilian decorations of the Soviet Union. Established in 1935, it was awarded for outstanding achievements in industry, agriculture, scientific research, government service, culture, education, sports, and other socially beneficial activities. It could also be granted in recognition of notable acts of civic courage.
This example bears the serial number 770528. According to the classification system commonly used by collectors, it is identified as Type 4, Option 2, Variant 4.
The decoration is accompanied by its original Order Book (Ordenskaya Knizhka), the official award document confirming its bestowal in 1971, as well as its original presentation case.
The Order of the Badge of Honour was awarded to millions of Soviet citizens and was also bestowed upon factories, institutions, organizations, and other collective bodies in recognition of their contributions to the Soviet state.
