Soviet Union USSR. Order of the October Revolution with Award Book and Case, 1973
The Order of the October Revolution was one of the highest decorations of the Soviet Union. Established in 1967 to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the October Revolution, it ranked second in precedence among Soviet orders, surpassed only by the Order of Lenin.
The award was presented to individuals, institutions, military units, enterprises, and organizations for active revolutionary activity, outstanding contributions to the establishment and strengthening of Soviet power, and exceptional service in the building of socialism and communism. It could also be awarded for significant achievements in industry, science, culture, national defense, and other fields of importance to the Soviet state.
This example bears the serial number 62189. According to the classification commonly used by collectors, it is identified as a Variant 2 example.
The order is accompanied by its original Order Book (Ordenskaya Knizhka), documenting its award in 1973, as well as its original presentation case.
