Soviet Union USSR. Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class, 1945 #765022
The Order of the Patriotic War was a military decoration established by the Soviet Union in 1942 during the Great Patriotic War. It was the first Soviet order created specifically during the Second World War to reward acts of bravery, heroism, and distinguished military service in combat.
The award was bestowed upon members of the Red Army, security troops, sailors, and partisans who distinguished themselves through heroic actions against enemy forces. It was awarded in two grades, with the 1st Class being the higher distinction.
This example is an Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class, bearing the serial number 765022, a number consistent with awards issued in 1945, during the final phase of the war.
According to the classification system commonly used by collectors, this piece is identified as Variant 3, from the Fourth Production Batch of the Krasnokamsk Mint (KMD).
Original Soviet Second World War decoration awarded in 1945.
