The 53rd Division, a unit of the National Army during the Spanish Civil War, was created in May 1937 and participated in the Aragon Campaign breaking the front in the Huesca sector, later it was sent as reinforcement in the Battle of the Ebro and finally it participated in the Catalonia Offensive.
