Spain. CNT (National Confederation of Labour) Cufflinks, Spanish Civil War Period
Pair of cufflinks worn by members of the National Confederation of Labour (Confederación Nacional del Trabajo – CNT) during the Second Spanish Republic or the Spanish Civil War.
Founded in 1910, the CNT was an anarcho-syndicalist trade union that became one of Spain’s leading labour organizations. During the Civil War, it played a major role in organizing Republican militias and in the collectivization of industries and public services, particularly in Catalonia and Aragon.
These cufflinks, bearing CNT symbolism, were personal accessories intended to display the wearer’s affiliation with the organization.
