The Mounted Section of the Barcelona Guardia Urbana is a historic police unit whose origins date back to 1856. Its mounted officers carried out policing and patrol duties and also participated in ceremonies, parades and official events.
These epaulettes formed part of the full-dress uniform worn by officers of the Mounted Section, one of the most traditional and representative units of Barcelona’s municipal police.
