The People’s Army of the Republic (EPR) established a rank insignia system that included the rank of Lieutenant among the junior officers.
According to that regulation, the Lieutenant’s insignia was identified by a red five-pointed star accompanied by two gold bars for officers.
These insignias were typically worn on the chest (as a “chest stripe”) or on the cuffs of the service jacket.
