José Luis Surroca Pratdesaba, Mayor of Sant Just Desvern between 1959 and 1971, journalist, at the age of twenty-five, founded and edited the regional newspaper Llobregat and created the radio station Ràdio Sant Just in 1950. He later founded Ràdio Joventut, which became a veritable school for journalists and which, under various acronyms, he directed uninterruptedly until his retirement in 1985, with the exception of when he headed RNE-Catalunya (1981–1983). He was awarded an Ondas, the Antena de Oro de Radio, and, in 2007, received a tribute from the Association of Radio and Television Veterans of Catalonia.
