Spain. Valladolid National Shooting Competition Medal. 1946.
Medal awarded by the Valladolid National Shooting Association, dated 1946, during the Franco period.
Silver-coloured medal. The obverse depicts an allegorical female figure or matron, wearing a mural crown and protecting a child. In front of them stands a man armed with a rifle in a protective stance.
Of particular interest, the obverse reuses a design previously employed on National Shooting medals during the Second Spanish Republic, retaining this iconography on an example dated as late as 1946.
Spanish National Shooting medal from the Franco period.
