The shoulder boards indicate the rank of Major (Майор) in the Artillery branch. The buttons are metallic.
It includes the Soviet Guards Badge. The Soviet Guards Badge (Nagradnyi Znak Gvardii) was a military distinction created in 1942 to identify units and soldiers of the Red Army who had demonstrated exceptional bravery, effectiveness, and discipline in combat, earning the honorary status of “Guards.” The badge, worn on the right side of the chest, displayed a waving red banner with the word Гвардия (Guards).
