Soviet Union USSR. Soviet Army Artillery Colonel’s Tunic, 1970s
Khaki tunic corresponding to the Soviet Army service uniform of the 1970s. The black collar tabs bearing two crossed cannons identify the Artillery Branch, while the shoulder boards, with red piping and two red stripes, likewise correspond to this branch. The three five-pointed stars positioned above the two stripes on the shoulder boards indicate the rank of Colonel. The interior label states that the garment was manufactured in Moscow.
The tunic retains several military specialist and sports distinction badges, together with a three-medal bar consisting of the 50th Anniversary Medal of the Armed Forces of the USSR (1918-1968), established in 1967; the 60th Anniversary Medal of the Armed Forces of the USSR (1918-1978), established in 1978; and the Veteran of the Armed Forces of the USSR Medal.
