Soviet Union USSR. 20th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War Medal with Award Document, 1966
The Commemorative Medal for the 20th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 was established by the Soviet Union to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of victory over the Axis powers in the Great Patriotic War.
The medal was awarded to all military and civilian personnel of the Soviet Armed Forces who had participated in the war, to partisans and members of the underground resistance, and to all individuals who had previously received the Medal for the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 or the Medal for the Victory over Japan.
The decoration served as a collective tribute to the veterans whose service contributed to the Soviet victory in the Second World War and became one of the most widely awarded commemorative medals of the post-war era.
This example is accompanied by its original award certificate, dated 1966, officially documenting the presentation of the medal to its recipient.
Original Soviet decoration complete with its award document.
