USSR (Soviet Union). Budenovka. Black color with red star and aluminum officer insignia. 1980s.
The Budenovka (in Russian: будёновка, budyónovka) was a military cap worn by the Bolsheviks of the Red Army during the Russian Civil War and after its conclusion. Its name comes from the Soviet military leader Semyon Budyonny, in whose honor the cap was named. The Budenovka was decorated with a red star featuring a sickle and hammer, though it also carried a distinctive mark.
It continued to be used until the end of the USSR in parades and military displays.
