USA. World War II Purple Heart with its original box and miniature service clasp.
The Purple Heart (PH) is a United States military decoration awarded in the name of the president to those who were wounded or killed while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, starting April 5, 1917. Along with its predecessor, the Military Merit Badge, which was in the shape of a purple cloth heart, the Purple Heart is the oldest military decoration still awarded to U.S. service members. The National Purple Heart Hall of Honor is located in New Windsor, New York.
United States medal manufactured during World War II.
