Distinctive circular magazine for the Soviet Degtyaryov DP (Ручной пулемёт Дегтярёва Пехотный) light machine gun, extensively used by the Red Army during the Second World War.
The magazine was mounted horizontally on top of the weapon and had a capacity of 47 rounds of 7.62 × 54R ammunition. Its internal rotating system was designed for the rimmed cartridges, providing reliable ammunition feeding.
The centre bears markings relating to its 47-round capacity.
