Badge belonging to the Vietnam Air Defence and Air Force (Phòng không – Không quân, abbreviated PK-KQ). This designation identifies the branch responsible for the defence of Vietnamese airspace and military aviation operations within the People’s Army of Vietnam. The service was established on 22 October 1963 through the merger of the Air Defence Command and the Air Force Department. During the Vietnam War, its anti-aircraft artillery, radar, missile and aviation units took part in the defence of North Vietnam, including the major U.S. air campaigns of 1965–1972.
