Vietnam. Medal of the 1975 Ho Chi Minh Campaign
Vietnamese commemorative medal dedicated to the Ho Chi Minh Campaign (Vietnamese: Chiến dịch Hồ Chí Minh), the final offensive of the Vietnam War, which culminated in the capture of Saigon on 30 April 1975 and the defeat of the South Vietnamese government. Officially designated Chiến dịch Hồ Chí Minh, the campaign began on 26 April 1975 and constituted the decisive phase of the General Offensive and Uprising of Spring 1975.
The medal bears the inscription Kỷ niệm chương Chiến dịch Hồ Chí Minh, meaning “Commemorative Medal of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign.” It is a commemorative piece associated with the historical memory of the campaign and the April 1975 victory of North Vietnamese and Provisional Revolutionary Government forces.
