The Huân chương Lao động hạng Nhì is the Second Class Labour Order, a Vietnamese state decoration awarded for outstanding achievements in labour, production, scientific research, professional activity, and the construction and development of the country. The Labour Order was originally established on 1 May 1950, during the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and was divided into three classes, with First Class being the highest.
The Second Class is awarded to individuals who have achieved particularly outstanding and recognized results in their field of activity. Vietnamese legislation also provides for its award for important inventions, initiatives or scientific works, significant contributions to economic and social development, and, in certain cases, long and distinguished service. It may also be awarded to collectives and organizations meeting the prescribed criteria.
