Vietnam. Third Class Military Merit Order
The Military Merit Order (Huân chương Quân công) is one of Vietnam’s major state decorations for recognizing outstanding achievements in the field of the Armed Forces. It may be awarded to individual military personnel and, under specific circumstances, to military units and organizations.
The order is divided into three classes, with the Third Class (Hạng Ba) being the lowest grade. Grounds for its award include long and distinguished service in the Armed Forces, as well as outstanding achievements in combat or combat support, training, force building, and strengthening national defence, provided that the achievements meet the requirements established by Vietnamese legislation.
The official design consists of a five-pointed star bearing the national emblem of Vietnam at its centre, together with decorative elements associated with the Armed Forces. The three classes have officially prescribed differences in their ribbons and distinguishing features, allowing the grade of the decoration to be identified.
