Officer shoulder boards of the Luftwaffe with «Russian braid», in red color for Flak (anti-aicraft artillery). It includes the uniform buttons.
The shoulder boards of the German Air Force (Luftwaffe Schulterstücke) indicated the rank and branch. Officers shoulder boards were made with “Russian braid,” aluminum-thread. Unlike Heer units, which at the beginning of the Second World War used gray aluminum wire, the Luftwaffe continued using bright aluminum wire.
