The Supreme Soviet of the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic was the highest legislative body of this republic during the existence of the Soviet Union (1936–1991). It was a unicameral parliament structured and operated according to the principles of democratic centralism, characteristic of all Soviet republics. The Supreme Soviet of Georgia was composed of deputies elected to represent the citizens and formally exercised legislative power, approving laws, economic plans, and appointing other state authorities.
